North West to honor housing developers

Housing developers in the North West will on Thursday, 26 April 2012, be awarded for their outstanding performance in the delivery of houses in the province.

The developers will be honoured during the provincial Govan Mbeki Human Settlements Housing Awards, aimed at showcasing and demonstrating excellent work done by the department with special emphasis on promoting best practice in the delivery of core mandate including outcome eight deliverables.

These awards are meant to motivate all stakeholders in the housing construction industry to harness the human and other resources in accelerating delivery. The awards are further set to honour role players in the housing value chain that have committed to partner with government in building sustainable human settlements and making the millennium development goals achievable by 2014.

The awards consist of five categories at provincial level and the winners will represent the province at the national competition.

Members of the media are invited to attend the event which would be held as follows:
