The land hand over celebration for Lomshiyo Community
18 Apr 2012 The Minister for Rural Development and Land Reform Mr Gugile Nkwinti together with the Premier of Mpumalanga, Mr. David Mabuza cordially invite members of the media to the land hand over celebration ceremony marking the restoration of 12 503 hectares of land for Lomshiyo Community in Nelspruit, on 21 April 2012.
The 485 households will receive assistance from the state in the form of grants towards the development of the restored land. Approximately R69 million has been approved by the state in respect of the Lomshiyo Community claim.
MEC for Agriculture, Rural Development and Land Administration, Ms Candice Mashego, Executive Mayor of Mbombela Local Municipality Councilor, Umjindi Local Municipality Councilor Ms Nkomazi Local Municipality Councilor will be amongst the dignitaries who will be attending the event.
As part of the event, the members of the media will have an opportunity to interact with members of the executive management of the department regarding the event.
