Why& How: World TB Day is celebrated annually on 24 March. The national TB celebrations took place at the end of March in Gauteng. In order to create awareness about TB and establish commitment, Hit the Road Walks for Humanity and media briefings took place in all provinces.
 
Slogan: "Stop TB in my lifetime"

In the Free State the following activities will take place:
 
Thursday, 12 April

14h30 – 16h00: Visit to Freedom Square Clinic and TB patient's home in Phase 5 (Media welcome to join in visit).
17h00 – 18h00: Media briefing, Southern Sun Hotel
 
Friday, 13 April

6h30 - 7h00: Walk for Humanity from Southern Sun Hotel, via Nelson Mandela Road into Parfitt Road into King's Way to St Andrew Street into Harvey Road to St Georges Road to the Long Distance Taxi Rank (Distance: 10 km) (Media welcome to walk along)
