Improving access to services and service sites

28 Mar 2012

Improving access to services and service sites

Date: 17 April 2012
Venue: Premier Hotel OR Tambo

In an endeavour to improve tangible aspects within the service delivery value chain, improvement in the management of frontline services was identified as one of the priority areas requiring attention in the Programme of Action, outcome 12. To this effect, the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) is developing a framework on the use of signage to enhance access to services in the public service.

The purpose of the framework will be to guide departments in the  implementation of a signage framework to enhance the efficiency in front line service delivery departments. The framework will contain examples of signage systems that have been implemented in government, the process to implement such systems, the lessons learnt in the process and the manner in which it contributed to service improvement.

Purpose

The purpose of the workshop is to obtain inputs from departments on the proposed framework and proposed minimum norms. The experience and practises within departments are essential in ensuring that lessons learnt are included in the framework. The DPSA is inviting all national and provincial departments to participate in a national consultative workshop. The DPSA is looking forward to the participation of all the national and provincial departments as the contributions by departments are invaluable in ensuring the success of the workshop and the framework.
