Eskom's final multi-year price determination (MYPD2) application to National Electricity Regulator of South Africa (NERSA)

1 Dec 2009

The Department of Public Enterprises welcomes Eskom’s revised application, which takes into account the economic impact of its proposed tariff increases and in particular the need to ensure that the impact on the poor and small and medium enterprises ,is mitigated.

The department supports the introduction of private sector participation/equity into Eskom’s infrastructure investment programme. We are confident that the National Electricity Regulator of South Africa (NERSA), in making its final decision, will take all the proposals into consideration, including the country’s future electricity supply requirements and the need to ensure that Eskom is financially sustainable and operationally efficient.
