Gauteng Department of Health to host Mental Health Summit

The Gauteng Department of Health and Social Development will on Tuesday, 28 February 2012 host the Mental Health Summit at Turffontein Race Course in Johannesburg.

Under the theme:"No health without mental health", the summit aims to ensure commitment and involvement of all stakeholders in advocating and protecting the rights of mental health services users and also to strengthen relationships between services providers and service users.

Mental illness is a behavioural, mental, or emotional disorder that interferes with the person’s lifestyle, however with early diagnosis, care treatment and rehabilitation most people can recover from the illness.

Deputy Minister of Health Dr Gwen Ramokgopa will deliver a key note address at the summit.
