Correctional Services hosts Freedom Race in honour of Madiba

7 Feb 2012

This year marks 21 years since that icon of the historic South African struggle against apartheid, Nelson Mandela, walked gracefully out of Drakenstein Correctional Centre, ushering South Africa and the world into a new era.

As a result, on Saturday, 11 February 2012, the Department of Correctional Services will host the 27 for Freedom Race in honour of Madiba at the Drakenstein Correctional Centre near Paarl at 8am.
