MEC congratulates newly appointed Stable Theatre Board of Directors

5 Nov 2009

The KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Arts, Culture, Sport and Recreation, Mrs Weziwe Thusi, congratulates the new members of the Stable Theatre Board of Directors on their appointment for a term of office ending in 2012.

The art centre has now been registered as a Section 21 company and the department is funding its cultural programmes to the tune of R1,3 million annually. Thusi said the board’s appointment signalled that the winds of change were blowing at the Stable Theatre.

“The appointment of the Board of Directors for the Stable Theatre means that the institution is now turning the corner. It will now be able to do what it was meant for developing arts in the province. A lot of artists are going to benefit from the services that are being rendered by the Stable Theatre. One has full confidence in the people that have been put at the helm of running the institution. I wish them the best of luck during the execution of their duties and assure them of my unfailing support,” said Thusi.

The board members are:
* Ms B Toko
* Mr B Mtshali
* Ms C Smart
* Mr R Bugwandeen
* Ms N Dumakude
* Ms B Dwayisa
