Committee to find solutions on rhino poaching

25 Jan 2012

The Portfolio Committee on Water and Environmental Affairs will from tomorrow (26 January 2012) hold public hearings on rhino poaching

Rhino poaching has risen sharply in the past few years across Africa and that has threatened to reverse the hard-won population increases achieved by conservation authorities during the 20th century.

According to the Department of Water and Environmental Affairs, Rhino poaching has escalated at an alarming rate since 2008.

Details of the hearings are as follows:

Date: 26 January 2012
Venue: Old Assembly Chamber, Ground Floor, Old Assembly Building
Time: 09:30 – 17:00
