Statement on the suspension of Mr Mathanzima Mweli
7 Oct 2009 The North West provincial government confirms that Mr Mathanzima Mweli, the Superintendent General of the Department of Education, has been suspended. This action has been taken to enable the provincial government to investigate matters relating to financial management in the department. We wish to point out, however, that the action of suspending, or investigating a case against an employee does not presume guilt, but merely assists to gather evidence. Enquiries:
