Visit by the Nepalese Parliamentary delegation

6 Oct 2009

The Department of Defence and Military Veterans will host a Nepalese Parliamentary delegation at Armscor building on 7 October 2009, at 08h30. The Acting Secretary for Defence, Mr Tsepe Motumi, will welcome the Nepalese delegation.

They will be briefed on the Integration Process of Armed Forces within a Constitutional Democracy, the civil control of the Military in the Republic of South Africa (RSA) as well as the organisational structure of the Department of Defence. This is the first opportunity for the department to welcome such a high level delegation from the Nepalese Parliament representing different political parties.

The aim of the visit is to learn how South Africa achieved democracy, paying particular attention to the integration of different Armed Forces into one defence force.

You are cordially invited to send a journalist and/or a photographer/cameraperson to attend the visit.

Kindly note that all guests should be seated at 08h30.
