Gauteng Provincial Government departments tables 2010/11 annual reports

Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane together with the members of her Executive Council (MECs) will tomorrow, 23 September 2011, table their departments’ Annual Reports for the 2010/2011 financial year at the Provincial Legislature.

The tabling of the departmental Annual Reports is an important element of accountability to the Legislature. Furthermore, the information provided in the annual reports assists in assessing the performance of the departments and the province as a whole.

Later in the day, Premier Mokonyane will deliver  her political report to a special sitting of the Legislature. The Political Report, which is in line with the commitment by the Executive Council to ensure that the Provincial Government constantly report to the people of Gauteng, will outline how the provincial government has fared in  implementing its Programme of Action in the last quarter of the current financial (July to September).

Members of the media will be afforded an opportunity to interact with Premier and the MECs after they had delivered their Annual Reports.
