Tlokwe Community Residential Units launch postponed

15 Sep 2011

The launch of the Community Residential Units (CRU) project  which was scheduled for today, Thursday 15 September 2011 at 10:00 am is postponed until further notice due to unforeseen circumstances.

The North West Department of Human Settlements, Public Safety & Liaison regrets and apologies for the inconvenience that might have been caused by the postponement.

The project initiated in partnership with Tlokwe Local Municipality will also improve the living conditions of the people and further to reduce the housing backlog in the province.

The CRU, which aims to facilitate the provision of secure, stable rental tenure for lower income persons and provides a coherent framework for dealing with the many different forms of existing public sector residential accommodation, will target persons and households earning between R800 and R3 500 per month who are not able to be accommodated in the formal private rental and social housing market.
