Members of the media are invited to cover the official memorial service for the late former Minister of Education and Water Affairs, Professor Kader Asmal.

The memorial which will be addressed by the Deputy President of the Republic of South Africa, Kgalema Motlanthe is expected to be attended by government representatives, Members of Parliament, Members of the Diplomatic Corps, business leaders and the public.

The event will take place as follows:
Date: Thursday, 30 June 2011
Venue: Cape Town City Hall, Darling Street Central Cape Town
Time: 11h00

Members of the media are requested to RSVP by tomorrow, Wednesday 29 June 2011 and arrive early on Thursday (10h00).
