Hawks seize over half a billion rand worth of hashish
15 Jun 2011 The Hawks received information that there was a large suspicious consignment at a freight company in Kempton Park.
Upon searching the premises, our members found packages, each covered with two tiles on each side. The Hawks discovered 9 050 kilograms of hashish hidden inside. The consignment was declared as tiles to an export company, and it was due to be exported to Europe. The drugs are estimated at R550 million in street value. The Hawks suspect that the latest seizure is linked to a R54 million hashish bust which was made just over two months ago. We are following up on information to track down a suspect/s.
