Department showcases its projects at Investors' Conference

13 Jun 2011

The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport is attending the International Transport Investors' Conference at the International Convention Centre in Cape Town on 13 to 14 June 2011. The two-day conference offers the department to showcase its projects and programmes aimed at improving transport infrastructure as well as attracting investments for planned future developments.

It is expected that m ore than 700 delegates from across the world will be in attendance. They will be representing a cross-section of interests from governments, state-owned entities, regulatory and research bodies, funding and investment institutions as well as many others.

The objectives of the gathering are to:

  • identify and package all potential projects for investments in the transport sector
  • showcase different transport projects critical to the delivery of transport infrastructure objectives
  • identify and attract investors for identified projects
  • allow for interaction between investors and government on proposed projects, providing an opportunity to demonstrate interest by investors.

The conference provides for an opportunity for organisations and institutions involved in the transport sector to exchange ideas, share information and for showcasing the various investment opportunities.
