26 Apr 2011

Parliament's National Assembly (NA) will sit on Tuesday 3 May at 14h00 to consider the nomination of a judge to serve on the Electoral Commission, to replace the late Judge President Herbert Msimang who recently passed away.

This follows a request from Chief Justice Sandile Ngcobo to Parliament's National Assembly Speaker Mr Max Sisulu.

The Portfolio Committee on Home Affairs will be meeting this Thursday (28 April) and Friday (29 April) to process the request and submit a report for consideration by the NA on 3 May.
