Ministerial Health Campaign
14 Jan 2011The MEC for Health in province, Mr Mxolisi Sokatsha, would like to take this opportunity to inform all of the continuation of the Ministerial Health Campaign in the Namaqua District of the Northern Cape province from 18 to 20 January 2011. The communities of Williston (18 January), Nieuwoudtville(19 January) and Calvinia (20 January) will be targeted to provide much needed health services.
This campaign aims to encourage positive action of taking responsibility for one’s health through testing for HIV, TB screening, community interaction or dialogue with Health MEC, door-to-door visits and health walks. This campaign is in line with social and moral reconstruction of our communities whereby health services will be provided both on site and referrals to facilities for specialised services as well as giving communities the opportunity to raise their concerns and challenges in the health sector with government leaders.
Furthermore, as part of the campaign, MEC Sokatsha will engage with local clinic committees and hospital boards to address challenges faced and responsibilities of the committees.
Services to be rendered will be rendered at community halls from 09h00 and will include HIV Counseling and Testing, dental and eye clinics, blood pressure testing, sugar level testing, male and female condom distribution.
We call upon all communities targeted, to support the campaign and access the services to be rendered to ensure we build healthy communities.
Working together, we can do more!
