Department welcomes MEC Ismail Vadi

Ismail Vadi was announced as MEC responsible for Roads and Transport by Gauteng Premier Ms Nomvula Mokonyane on 4 November 2010 after a provincial cabinet reshuffle.

Before the appointment, MEC Vadi served as an ANC Member of Parliament in the National Assembly and chaired the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Communications.

Whilst a Member of Parliament, MEC also served on the following committees: Portfolio Committees on Education, Safety and Security, Public Service and Administration, Correctional Services and Joint Standing Committee on Intelligence.

He brings with him wealth of experience and administrative capability from his time in parliament as well as from the various portfolios committees he had served.
