Provincial Chorale Music Festival

The staging of this Provincial Chorale Music Festival is the first step in the quest of the department to promote chorale music in the Free State. Free State choirs that will participate in this Provincial Chorale Music Festival include: Bel Canto Voices; Central University of Technology (CUT) choir; Bohlokong Chorale Society; Thabong Serenade; Calmato Choir and Jaggersfontein Community Choir. The choirs represent various districts in the province.

The occasion will also be used as a send-off ceremony of the two provincial choirs (Bel Canto Voices and CUT Choir) that will participate in the Old Mutual National Choir Festival finals to be staged from 5 to 7 December 2010 in Bloemfontein. The Old Mutual National Choir Festival is a 33 year old national choral music competition conducted at district, provincial levels and culminating in a national final. Old Mutual has officially backed the project since 1988.

Entrance fee at this Provincial Choral Music Festival is R35.00 per person.
