MEC to officiate road opening of P127 in Impendle worth R370 million

MEC for Transport Community Safety Mr Willies Mchunu will be opening road P127 in Impendleas one of Transport Month's Project tomorrow, 21 October 2010.

P127 links Impendle and Himeville, where the existing gravel road is being upgraded to blacktop. In the 2010/2011 financial year approximately R20 million will be spent on this project. The upgrade will improve access to the existing four clinics and twenty four schools. This road is an important bus route that links several locations around Impendle, Underberg and Himeville. The upgrade will attract traffic from the Eastern Cape, Kokstad, Bulwer and the Natal Midlands.

The total length of the road is 61 kilometres with an estimated budget of R370 Million.
