Ms Pandor is new Minister of Science and Technology

The Department of Science and Technology (DST) welcomes the appointment of former Education Minister Naledi Pandor to the Ministry of Science and Technology. This follows the announcement of the new Cabinet by President Jacob Zuma on 10 May, subsequent to the presidential elections on 22 April 2009.

Ms Pandor replaces Dr Mosibudi Mangena who has held this portfolio since the formation of the DST in 2002.

Mr Derek Hanekom remains the Deputy Minister of Science and Technology.
