Milliuneum Development Goals Dialogue (MDGs): gender equality and women empowerment

Date: 6 September 2010
Time: 08h00 to 14h00
Venue: Southern Sun, Pretoria, Corner Church and Beatrix Streets

The Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) is convening a consultative dialogue to present key stakeholders in government and civil society our draft report on the gendered implications of South Africa’s implementation of the MDGs. The purpose of the dialogue is to engage with these stakeholders on our findings, the challenges identified and recommendations developed.

Key speakers at this debate include the following:

  • Honourable Minister: Ms Noluthando Mayende-Sibiya
  • DG: Stats-SA, to present an overview of SA MDG country report
  • Advocate Boogie Khutsoane (Gender Expert and Commissioner, CGE)

In attendance will be several Director-Generals and high ranking officials and representatives from government departments, NGOs and academic institutions
