Department to conduct provincial integrated development plan (IDP) assessment sessions

The North West Department of Local Government and Traditional Affairs will on 3 to 6 August 2010, conduct provincial integrated development plan assessment sessions for the 2010/11 financial year.

In terms of the Local Government Municipal System Act 32 of 2000, in order to compile IDPs, municipalities are required to consult with their communities and stakeholders within their jurisdiction with the sole purpose of exploring ways to address many facets of development challenges that are faced by municipalities.

The provincial IDP assessment sessions are intended to facilitate the alignment between sector development plans and municipal IDPs and implementation thereof.

These sessions will be held as follows:

Venue: Department of Economic Development's auditorium (at BNDC)
