What are the positive and negative lessons relevant to the economy that we have learned and can these help shape the new national Growth Path thinking in Government?
Across the world, governments and citizens are searching for sustainable economic strategies and are discussing the shape of “the next economy."How will South Africa build on the lessons learned from this intensive project?
National stakeholders, elected public representatives, key economic actors, and the public are invited to provide publicly inspired ideas for policy suggestions to the Economic Development Department in the spirit of wide-ranging participatory democracy.SA New Economics Network Chairman, Joseph Edozien, will facilitate the process.
Dr Danny Jordaan, CEO of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Organising Committee South Africa will lead this second Policy Platform entitled, The Next Economy:Lessons from The World Cup.
Dr Goolam Ballim, Group Chief Economist of The Standard Bank of South Africa, and Minister Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, Board Member of the 2010 Organising Committee, will respond to the CEO’s presentation.
Further Policy Platforms will be announced as the series evolves.
