Gauteng MEC for Transport and Roads launches comprehensive transport plan

The Gauteng MEC for Transport and Roads, Bheki Nkosi, launches a comprehensive transport plan to ensure effective mobility for soccer supporters who will be travelling to various stadiums as part of the FIFA 2009 Confederations Cup kick-starting on 14 June 2009.

The transport plan will include extensive participation by the taxi industry and bus operators across the province. The Gauteng Department of Transport and Roads is currently finalising the designation of transport hubs that will serve as dedicated access points for ticket holders who need public transport during the tournament. Further details of the plan will be outlined on the day of the launch.
