Launch of the Gauteng integrated holiday programme

The Gauteng integrated holiday programme will swing into action when it’s launched tomorrow, Tuesday 8 June 2010. The programme is aimed at ensuring that Gauteng’s youth stay safe; stay entertained and gain knowledge during their six week vacation period which coincides with the 2010 Soccer World Cup.

The initiative is targeted at all grades and will be rolled out at more than 240 sites including schools and Community hubs across Gauteng. The programme will run until 9 July and youngsters who enrol will be participating in sporting activities; excursions and arts and crafts classes.

This integrated holiday programme is run jointly by the provincial Departments of Education, Community Safety, Economic Development, Health and Social Development and the Gauteng Tourism Authority.
