MEC to visit Addington hospital

7 May 2010

Today, the MEC for Health in KwaZulu-Natal will visit Addington hospital following reports in the print media of patients being "turned away from the emergency unit" by security.

The MEC is visiting the hospital to get first hand information on what transpired and also to interact with patients and staff on the delivery of quality healthcare as his focal area as announced during his budget speech for 2010/11.

The MEC would also wish to satisfy himself with the state of readiness for the 2010 FIFA World Cup spectacular to take place in 34 days time.
