Visits to foreign countries by Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation M Fransman in 2011
- Addis Ababa, Ethiopia: AU Peace and Security Council meeting, 7 to 8 December
Deputy Minister Fransman's interaction with the AU Peace and Security pertains to developments in Madagascar since the establishment of the government.
- Windhoek, Namibia: SADC Extraordinary Council of Ministers, 22 to 24 November
The meeting of the Council of Ministers will focus on the report from the Ministerial Troika that took place on 1 August 2011 in Windhoek, Namibia.
- Palestine, 19 and 20 November
The visit follows the Palestinian symposium hosted by the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa recently to engage with the Palestinian and Israeli governments, as well as local civil society organisations, think tanks and academics from both the Palestinian and Israeli Lobbies, in order to help cultivate a solution to the current conflict between Palestine and Israel.

Deputy Minister Fransman discussed the upcoming 17th Conference of Parties (COP17) on Climate Change taking place in South Africa later this year and preparations for President Jacob Zuma’s upcoming visit to Oslo during the second half of 2011.
- New York, United States of America: Working visit, 11 - 18 June
The visit focuses on promoting South Africa’s national priorities and maintaining strategic platforms of cooperation.
