- Founding member of the United Women's Organisation formed in 1979 after the banning of the ANC.
- Executive member of the Federation of South African Women and General Secretary of the ANC Women's League in the Western Cape.
- Started the Women's College in the early 90's for women in governance.
- Member of the Mitchell's Plain Youth Congress.
- Member of United Democratic Front.
- Member of the United Women's Organisation.
- Taught in Beaufort West at Salt River High and Mitchells Plain.
