Current Positions
  • Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Republic of South Africa since 11 May 2009.
  • Member of Parliament since May 2009.

Academic Qualifications
  • Bachelor Arts degree from the University of Transkei, Bachelor Arts Honours degree from the University of Fort Hare and Master degree in Public Administration from the University of Fort Hare.

Positions last held/Career/Memberships/Other Activities
  • Ms Xasa is a Teacher by profession and taught at several high schools. During her political career she has served as Provincial Treasurer of African National Congress (ANC) in Eastern Cape province, member of provincial Legislature in Eastern Cape from 2001 until 2009, Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Local Government and Traditional Affairs. She has also served in the following Portfolio Committees: Local government and Traditional Affairs, Premier's Office, and Economic Affairs.
  • She also served as Mayor of King Sabatha at the Dalindyebo District Municipality.
