The Gijima KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) LED Support Programme

The role of the municipality is to create a favourable climate for economic activities; but it is up to individuals in every community to come up with ideas and plans for the businesses.

The Local Economic Development ( LED) programme is making an impact in our community! Through LED, we have taken the initiative and formed a business forum for all business stakeholders to lead and guide local economic development. We’re beginning to see more people flourish, thanks to the healthy business environment LED is creating.

The Gijima KZN LED Support Programme funds projects that help previously disadvantaged people from poor communities to improve their lives financially by becoming involved in small business. The programme makes it possible for people to get the skills they need to do this.

How to apply:

  • There will be a call for project proposals in the local newspapers, so check them regularly.
  • Follow the instructions in the newspaper advertisement to get your application forms.
  • Fill in the application forms, carefully sticking to the guidelines you are given.
