Where do I find South African census records?
The last census was undertaken in 2011. Findings of the 2001 census is available from Statistics South Africa.
Where do I find updated demographic and socio-economic data between censuses?
Statistics South Africa undertakes a national census only every ten years. To bridge the gap, the Community Survey 2007 was undertaken as a mini-census. The General Household Survey is published annually. It contains information on a variety of subjects including education, health, the labour market, dwellings, access to services and facilities, transport, and quality of life.
