Where do I find more information on the New Growth Path?

Government on 23 November 2010 released the Framework of the New Economic Growth Path aimed at enhancing growth, employment creation and equity. Where do I find information on Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BEE)?

Government has embarked on a comprehensive programme to provide a legislative framework for the transformation of South Africa's economy. The Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment Act, [No. 53 of 2003] [PDF] aims to advance economic transformation and enhance the economic participation of black people in the South African economy.

How and where do I register a close corporation?

The Companies Act, [No. 71 of 2008] [PDF] came into operation on 1 May 2011, replacing the Companies Act of 1973. No new close corporations will be registered from 1 May 2011, but new companies can be registered.

More information on New Company registrations is available on the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) website. The CIPC was established through the amalgamation of the Office of Companies and Intellectual Property Enforcement (OCIPE) and the Companies and Intellectual Property Registration Office (CIPRO).
