World Television Day

21 November

In 1996, the General Assembly proclaimed 21 November as World Television Day, commemorating the date on which, the first World Television Forum was held at the United Nations. States were invited to observe the Day by encouraging global exchanges of television programmes focusing on issues such as peace, security, economic and social development, and the enhancement of cultural exchanges (Resolution 51/205 of 17 December).
