How do I contact the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC)

Who should register

  • SA citizens 16 years or older (but you have to be 18 years or older to vote on election day)
  • Newly naturalised citizens
  • Those whose address, name or ID number has changed

How to register for the 2004 elections
 

  • To register to vote, you must
    • Be 16 years or older (to vote you have to be 18 years or older on election day)
    • Have your green bar-coded ID book or Temporary Identity Certificate (TIC)
    • Go to the voting station where you live or
    • Go to the office of your local Municipal Electoral Officer [outside link]

       
  • To obtain an ID book
