National Marine Week 2001

Aims and Objectives

  1. To interest the general public on Coastal issues without them feeling that these issues belong to the coastal communities only.
  2. To popularise the Sustainable Coastal Livelihood Programme as Implementation Plan of the White Paper on Coastal Management.
  3. To communicate the link between Caring for the coast and taking action towards sustainable development of our coastal resources.
  4. Demonstrate how the new fishing rights allocation process will ultimately benefit our coastal communities and bring sustainability and transformation to the fishing industry.
  5. To increase the level of Environmental Education amongst our youth and students
