"A new dawn of change – Implementing the new Local Government System"

The Department of Provincial and Local Government cordially invites all city managers and chief financial officers of municipalities to participate in a conference on the new Local Government system. The aim of the conference is to share information so that Local Government role players are sufficiently equipped to fulfil their new responsibilities.

The conference will feature:

  • The launch of the Integrated Development Planning (IDP) Support System
  • Equitable Share and Transformation funds
  • Performance Management system for Local Government
  • Division of Powers and Functions
  • Dealing with free basic services

The Conference will take place over two days on 16 & 17 May 2001 at the Saint George Hotel at Rietvleidam in Pretoria.
