NO. 56 OF 1995: INDEPENDENT ELECTORAL COMMISSION AMENDMENT ACT, 1995.

It is hereby notified that the President has assented to the following Act which is hereby published for general information:-

ACT

To amend the Independent Electoral Commission Act, 1993, so as to provide for the filling of a vacancy in the membership of the Special Electoral Court; and to provide for matters connected therewith.

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa, as follows:-

Amendment of section 32 of Act 150 of 1993

1. Section 32 of the Independent Electoral Commission Act, 1993, is hereby amended by the addition of the following subsection:

"<<(3) A vacancy which occurs in the Special Electoral Court shall be filled by a judge of the Supreme Court designated by the Chief Justice and appointed by the President>>.".

Short title

2. This Act shall be called the Independent Electoral Commission Amendment Act, 1995.
