The Government of South Africa committed itself to investing in the preparations needed to ensure that Africa's first FIFA World CupTM was a resounding success. Government also used this opportunity to speed up the delivery of services and infrastructure.

Various government departments that made guarantees to FIFA delivered on their mandates within the set deadlines. Government is committed to drawing on the success of the World Cup to take the delivery of major projects forward.
